Part:BBa_K2202001
ssDNA for producing in-vivo tetrahedral structure strand2
This part is an improvement to the BBa_K2054002 part. This part works together with four other parts ( BBa_K2202000, BBa_K2202002, BBa_K2202003 and BBa_K2202004) and requires the chassis to contain HIV reverse transcriptase and Murine leukemia reverse transcriptase. The Part essentially produces a ncRNA which is later reverse transcribed to a single-stranded DNA that binds together with four other ssDNA produced to make a 2-dimensional structure. This 2D structure, upon detecting a Huntington's Disease biomarker (hsa-miR-34b-3p), folds into a tetrahedron with a G-quadruplex. Colorimetric or fluorescent reagents such as ABTS and Thioflavin T can be used to detect this G-quadruplex. Hence our part functions as a diagnostic device for nucleic acid based biomarkers.
